Our friend in Oakland, Britt Bravo, wrote in to tell us about this exciting new site in the non-profit sphere. It's called Code for a Cause, and it serves as a meeting place for developers and non-profit organizations who need their help.
Users can participate either as a developer willing to donate time and energy to a project, or as an organization in need of some coding help. Most organizations are looking to build a community site, so they want people familiar with Web 2.0 concepts like interactive communities and data sharing. The site itself is built with Ning, so our guess is that Ning knowledge would also be welcome as it's an inexpensive way to develop an interactive web presence.
Code for a Cause was launched just recently, so sign up, contribute to the community, and help it grow!
