Downloading photos from my camera is a task I typically try to avoid. Searching for the right cable, trying to insert the USB correctly (I never get it on the first try), and plentiful and inexpensive SD cards mean I usually put it off for as long as I can. But there are occasions when I'd like access to my photos immediately, so I was very intrigued when I learned about the Eye-Fi card. The Eye-Fi is a memory card that is able to wirelessly upload your photos to a variety of destinations -- a desktop, laptop, mobiles device, or a wide range of online sharing services like Facebook, YouTube, or Twitter.

The card is available in a variety of sizes and feature sets and some cards feature endless memory that flexibly will create space on the memory card as you upload or as the card becomes full. Some cards also include geotagging photos. Setup is very easy and, should you have a problem, there is a rich support site, which seems pretty responsive to user's issues.

androids and ioses users can download an app, allowing them to take great photos with a DSLR and send them on to a photo blog or other sharing site via their phones or tablet. Plus, the Pro X2 cards can wirelessly upload RAW files.

Having used the Eye-Fi for a bit, it's a very impressive tool to add to my camera bag. While I had a bit of a hard time getting it to work in my WiFi-challenged house, once I got it working, it was great. Because online sharing can take place in real time, I look forward to using the Eye-Fi for the next birthday party or school musical that grandparents or other relatives can't attend.
