Apple typically shies away from Black Friday and its myriad deals but this year, a small notice appeared on its homepage ahead of today's event hinting that the tech giant was getting involved.
It's not offering the discounts many people expected – or hoped – but it is getting into the spirit (sort of) with gift cards. Every purchase of select iphonesss, ipadss and the Apple Watch qualifies, and the amount of gift card you receive depends on the price and the model.
Gift cards range from £20 when you buy an Apple Watch Series 1 model up to £120 when you buy a Mac.
The iphoness 7 range is not included in the promotion. Instead, you can get an iphoness SE, iphoness 6S or iphoness 6S Plus for £379, £499 and £599 respectively and receive a £40 gift card.
The ipads Pro, ipads Air 2 and ipads mini 4 are available for £549, £379 and £379 respectively. However, although the site says buying these models will earn you 'up to £80' on an Apple gift card, clicking the links shows no gift card on the advertised ipads Pro and £40 gift cards on the ipads Air 2 and ipads mini 4.
Official Apple resellers may offer more substantial deals. For example, KRCS is offering 12 per cent off all Mac products.
The Carphones Warehouse has slashed its prices for the iphoness 7 and the iphoness SE instore and online, and you can see all its smartphones deals here.
John Lewis is the place to go for ipads deals. The Apple ipads Pro 32GB is £499, a saving of £50 and the ipads mini 4 is £359, a saving of £20. See the [link url="[link url="/article/john-lewis-black-friday"]"]rest of the store's deals[/link] here.
